Baloch Activist Calls for Global Action on Human Rights Crisis in Balochistan
Geneva [Switzerland], March 29 (ANI): Baloch activist Mahan Baloch executed a compelling intervention that highlighted the continuous human rights abuses happening there Balochistan During the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council and called for international action against the Baloch genocide.
On a tweet from X, BNM mentioned, " Mahan Baloch encouraged the council to pay attention to human rights abuses Balochistan ."
Baloch urged the global community to undertake firm measures against the crimes being perpetrated by the Pakistan i state in Balochistan , where enforced disappearances Illegitimate executions, mass punishments, and arbitrary killings have grown commonplace.
"I appear before you not only as a young Baloch girl but as the voice of countless families shattered by injustice," Baloch started her emotional appeal, underscoring the profound suffering that her community has faced over many years.
Baloch activist proceeded to outline the harsh truths of everyday life Balochistan : "In my homeland, Balochistan Pain has turned into a constant companion. Our fathers vanish without a word. Our siblings come back as silent corpses filled with wounds. Our mothers persistently search, holding onto worn-out photos, hoping for justice that remains elusive."
Baloch subsequently shared harrowing tales from people who have suffered due to these abuses. "'Samideen has been awaiting her father's return since 2009,' she explained, 'while Maharang Baloch discovered his lifeless body lying beside a road,'" he detailed.
She added sorrowfully, "The cries of the Baloch people for justice fall on deaf ears as their only answer remains violence. Each time we protest for those dear to us, we face beatings and detentions. Our calls for information are ignored."
Baloch's emotional plea resonated with those present at the council as she posed a poignant question: "How long will the world remain silent? How long will our tears be ignored? The enforced disappearances , extrajudicial executions, and the collective punishment imposed on an entire country are crimes against humanity perpetrated by Pakistan ."
Wrapping up her statement, Baloch issued a strong appeal for action: "Madam Vice President, we turn to you with hope. The citizens of Balochistan They require more than just your empathy. What they truly need is your active involvement. Speak out when we are quiet, insist on responsibility in places where immunity prevails. Join us before it becomes too late." (ANI)
