Meru - Isaac Mutuma has taken the oath of office to become the new governor of Meru County.
When did Isaac Mutuma take his oath of office?
On Monday, March 17, Mutuma swore an oath at Mwendentu Grounds to become the fourth governor of Meru County.
The inauguration took place just days following the High Court's affirmation of the Senate's choice to impeach Governor Kawira Mwangaza in 2024.
A number of political figures from Meru County were present at the event, among them Water Cabinet Secretary Eric Muga, Senator Kathuri Murungi, ex-CS Mithika Linturi, and Kiraitu Murungi.
Mwangasa has also declared her departure from the United Democratic Alliance and plans to establish a new political party next week as she seeks to challenge her removal.
