Machu Picchu Tries Shin Ramyun: A Global Flavor Adventure
On April 28, Nongshim announced the opening of its inaugural "Shin Ramyun Bunsik" – a Korean-style noodle restaurant – located close to Machu Picchu in Peru. The company aims to enhance brand visibility and increase export activities through this venture.
The facility, launched on April 21 in Aguas Calientes, the primary entry point for Machu Picchu, allows travelers to purchase Nongshim items like Shin Ramyun and Neoguri and prepare these noodles right at the location with provided instant noodle vending machines. Assistance from local personnel is available to help guests.
The snack bar includes an exhibition highlighting the history of Shin Ramyun and other prominent Nongshim products.
Nongshim intends to expand the presence of Shin Ramyun Bunsik restaurants at key tourist locations throughout Asia and beyond later this year. This expansion aims to boost overseas sales, targeting an increase from 40% of overall revenue in 2024 to 50% in 2025.
The firm anticipates that the new venue, situated close to a UNESCO World Heritage site which attracts over 1.5 million tourists each year, will replicate the achievements of their "Jungfrau Shin Ramyun" venture in Switzerland.
