Uttarakhand's Top Official Reviews New Traffic Plan for Dehradun

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), India, April 29 (ANI): The chief secretary of Uttarakhand Anand Bardhan convened a gathering at the Secretariat with representatives from the Integrated Metropolitan Transport Authority and other relevant authorities to discuss the traffic management in Dehradun city, and provided essential instructions.

On Monday, according to an official statement, the Chief Secretary was briefed by his team about the choices established during earlier gatherings. He emphasized that the strategy formulated to tackle the traffic congestion problem in Dehradun needs to be put into action without delay.

According to the announcement, the Chief Secretary instructed the Secretary of the Public Works Department to promptly develop a Detailed Project Report aimed at enhancing the 10 specified congested intersections within the city.

The district magistrate and SSP of Dehradun were instructed by him to strictly enforce traffic regulations. Continuous awareness programs must be conducted for this purpose. He mentioned that additional parking areas should be designated throughout the city. Furthermore, he discussed coordinating with schools' administration and parents to adjust timings for school starts and finishes.

As stated in the announcement, the Chief Secretary instructed the MDDA to speed up the procedure for relocating the facility. When establishing deadlines for each stage of relocating Aadhar Bazaar, he emphasized adhering strictly to this schedule. According to the announcement, the Chief Secretary stated that "traffic parks must prepare to educate people and future generations regarding traffic regulations." Additionally, he instructed relevant authorities to clear obstructions from sidewalks and relocate utility services.
